Mike DiFranza to Speak at DailyDOOH Investor Conference

DPAA Founding Chairman will Discuss Industry's Past Present and Future

NEW YORK, Oct. 3, 2013-- The outgoing Digital Place-Based Advertising Association (DPAA) Chairman Mike DiFranza, recently voted Founding Chairman in recognition of his many contributions to the organization and the digital place-based media industry, is set to speak at The DailyDOOH Investor Conference being held in New York City on October 23, 2013. DiFranza will speak on his past, present and future in the Digital Place-Based industry.

 DiFranza’s career in the industry started in October 1997 when, with co-founders Todd Newville and Ray Pineau he founded Captivate Networks. Captivate subsequently merged with their competitor – Toronto, Ontario-based Elevator News Network. In April 2004, Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) acquired the assets of Captivate Network and DiFranza continued to run the business as a division of Gannett.

 Last week, when new investment from private equity firm Generation Partners saw Captivate spun into a separate company co-owned by Gannett and Generation Partners,  DiFranza stepped down from his positions as President of Captivate and Chairman of the DPAA board.

 This annual two day business trends event for senior executives in the Digital Signage and Digital Out of Home industry is being held in the conference facilities of Dentons (the law firm) on the 24th Floor, 1221 Avenue of the Americas, New York  on Wednesday October 23 (08:15 to 17:00) and Thursday October 24 (09:00 to 13:30). 

 The conference is co-chaired by RMG Networks Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: RMGN) Chief Marketing Officer Stephen Nesbit and DailyDOOH, Editor-in-Chief Adrian J Cotterill, both of whom have a history of organizing and moderating some of the most popular and successful Digital Placed Based industry events during the past six years.
